since as members of one body you were

called to peace.

(Colossians 3.15).

So deprive of power the evil desire lurking in your members,

the animal impulses with the earthly lusts that are employed

in sin: sexual vice, impurity, sensual appetites, unholy desires,

greed, covetousness, for that is idolatry, idolizing of self and

created things in place of God.

It is because of these sins that the holy indignation of God is

directed at the sons of disobedience that are obstinately

opposed to the divine will to truly bless them,

Among whom you also once walked, when you were living in

and addicted to such practices and behavior.

(Colossians 3.5-7).
