SURELY

“Surely He has borne our griefs (sicknesses, weaknesses

and distresses) and carried our sorrows and pains, yet we

considered Him stricken, smitten and afflicted by God.

But He was wounded for our transgressions.

He was bruised for our guilt and iniquities.

The chastisement needed to obtain peace and

well-being for us was upon Him and with the stripes that

wounded Him we are healed and made whole.

All we like sheep have gone astray, we have turned

every one to his own way; and the Lord has caused

the iniquity of us all to fall on Him.

He was oppressed and He was afflicted.

O GIVE THANKS

O Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good, for His

mercy and loving-kindness endure forever!

Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, whom He has

delivered from the hand of the adversary,

And gathered them out of the lands, from the east

and from the west, from the north and from the sea

in the south.
