If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us.If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
If we claim to have fellowship with Him yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live by the truth. But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, His Son, purifies us from all sin.
The Life appeared; we have seen it, and we proclaim to you the eternal life, which was with the Father and has appeared to us.
God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in him.
Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God.
Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.
They are from the world and therefore speak from the vewpoint of the world, and the world listens to them. We are from God, and whoever knows God listens to us; but whoever is not from God does not listen to us. This is how we recognize the Spirit of truth and the spirit of falsehood.
Who is it that overcomes the world? Only he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God.
And if we know that He hears us- whatever we ask- we know that we have what we asked of Him.
There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.
Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God and everyone who loves the Father loves His child as well.
