He who does what is sinful is of the devil, because the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil’s work.
And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know Him. Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known, but we know when He appears we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is. Everyone who has this hope in Him purifies Himself, just as He is pure.
If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us.If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
If we claim to have fellowship with Him yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live by the truth. But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, His Son, purifies us from all sin.
The Life appeared; we have seen it, and we proclaim to you the eternal life, which was with the Father and has appeared to us.
God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in him.
Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God.
Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.
Who is it that overcomes the world? Only he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God.
And if we know that He hears us- whatever we ask- we know that we have what we asked of Him.
