DEAD TO THE LAW

Do you not know brothers and sisters,
for I am speaking to those who are
acquainted with the Law, that the legal claims
have power over a person only for as
long as he or she is alive?
For instance, a married woman is bound
by law to her husband as long as he lives,
but if her husband dies, she is discharged
from the law concerning her husband.
Accordingly, if while her husband lives,
she marries another man, she will be
called an adulteress, but if her husband
dies, she is free from that law, so that
if she marries another man she is not an
adulteress.
Likewise my brothers and sisters you
have undergone death as to the Law
through the crucified body of Christ,
so that you may now belong to Another,
to Him Who was raised from the dead
in order that we may bear fruit to God.
( Romans 7.1-4).
Consider this and meditate:
1) The Law stipulated the codes
of behavior that is accepted by God.
2) We are alive in a new way which
brings about true righteousness,
spiritual life and eternal union with
God through our Lord and Savior Jesus
Christ who rose from the dead and brought
about our justification and sanctification.
