What Abraham Saw
Tags: behold the eternal, eyes of faith, faith, faithful, what Abraham saw
Jesus said that Abraham saw the day of Jesus and rejoiced.
Abraham saw that Jesus will as the Lord of Lords, King of Kings and the Righteous Judge will sit
to judge the world in righteousness. Moses and the prophets saw it too.
We know that a cloud of faithful witnesses surrounding us have seen the day when God’s righteousness will
be established. The hope of human yearning will be fulfilled.
The expectation of nature will be satisfeied. The non-sense of history will make sense.
Injustice will yield to justice. Faith will be sight and every eye shall see.
” Seek the Lord while he made be found and call upon Him while he is near,
let the wicked forsake their way and the unrighteous their thoughts,
let them return to the Lord, that he may have mercy on them, and to our God,
for he will abundantly pardon.
For my thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways my ways, says the Lord.
for as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways,
and my thoughts higher than your thoughts.
For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return there until
they have watered the earth, making it bring forth and sprout, giving seed to the sower
and bread to the eater, so shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not
return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and succeed in the thing
for which I sent it.
For you shall go out in joy and be led back in peace; the mountains and the hills before you
shall burst into song and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.
Instead of the thorn shall come up the myrtle; and it shall be to the Lord for a memorial,
for an everlasting sign that shall not be cut off.
(Isaiah 55. 6-13).
We too can see with the eyes of faith beyond the external, behold the eternal!
Abraham knew that God is the original promise keeper and that He will never forsake you nor leave you.
Here is what Abraham saw:
” By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to set out for a place that he was to receive as an inheritance;
and he set out, not knowing where he was going. By faith he stayed for a time in the land he had been promised,
as in a foreign land, living in tents, as did Isaac and Jacob, who were heirs with him of the same promise. For he
looked forward to the city that has foundations, whose architect and builder is God. By faith he received power of
procreation, even though he was too old- and Sarah herself was barren-because he considered Him faithful Who had
promised. Therefore from one person, and this one as good as dead, descendants were born, ‘as many as the stars
of heaven and as the innumerable grains of sand by the seashore.'”
(Hebrews 11. 8-12).
HALLELUJAH! THANK YOU LORD JESUS FOREVERMORE!
