He saved us, not because of any works of righteousness that we had done, but because of His mercy, by the cleansing of the new birth and renewing of the Holy Spirit, which He poured richly upon us through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Wonderful are Your works, and that my inner self knows right well.
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith- and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God- not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
In Him we were also chosen, having been predestined according to the plan of Him Who works out everyhting in conformity with the purpose of His will, in order that we, who were the first to hope in Christ, might be for the praise of His glory.
However, to the man who does not work but trusts God Who justifies the wicked, his faith is credited to him as righteousness.
What does the Scripture say? “Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness.”
Say to God, How awesome and fearfully glorious are Your works!
Through the greatness of Your power shall Your enemies submit themselves to You!
O GIVE THANKS O Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good, for His mercy and loving-kindness endure forever!
