He saved us, not because of any works of righteousness that we had done, but because of His mercy, by the cleansing of the new birth and renewing of the Holy Spirit, which He poured richly upon us through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Since we are now brought into right relationship with God by Christ’s blood, how much more, we shall be saved by Him from the indignation and wrath of God.
