Make it your ambition to lead a quiet life, to mind your own business and to work with your hands, just as we told you, so that your daily life may win the respect of outsiders and so that you will not be dependent on anybody.
In this way they will lay up treasure for themselves as a firm foundation for the coming age, so that they may take hold of the life that is truly life.
But join me in suffering for the gospel (Best News Ever), by the power of God, Who has saved us and called us to a holy life- not because of anything we have done but because of His own purpose and grace.
His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of Him Who called us by His own glory and goodness.
Not only is this so, but we rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through Whom we have now received reconciliation.
And if the Spirit of Him Who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, He Who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit Who lives in you.
Grace and peace be yours in abundance through the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord.
Finally, all of you, live in harmony with one another; be sympathetic, love as brothers, be compassionate and humble.
For you died , and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. When Christ Who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory.
