GREATEST WORTH AND ADVANTAGE

Wednesday, October 27th, 2010

Whatever former things I had that might have been gains to me,

I have come to consider as one combined loss for Christ’s sake.

Yes, furthermore, I count everything as loss compared to the

possession of the priceless privilege ( the overwhelming preciousness,

the surpassing worth, and supreme advantage) of knowing Christ Jesus

my Lord and progressively becoming more deeply and intimately

acquainted with Him ( of perceiving, recognizing and understanding Him

more fully and clearly). For His sake I have lost everything and consider

it all to be mere rubbish, in order that I may win Christ.

And that I may be found in Him, not having any self-achieved righteousness

that can be called my own, based on my obedience to the Law’s demands of

ritualistic uprightness and supposed right standing with God thus acquired,

but possessing that genuine righteousness which comes through faith in

Christ, the truly right standing with God, which comes from God by faith.

(Philippians 3.7-9).

GOD’S HOUSEHOLD

Saturday, November 7th, 2009

And He designed to reconcile to God

both Jew and Gentile united in a single

body by means of His cross, thereby

killing the enmity and bringing the feud

to an end.

And He came and preached the glad tidings

to you who were afar off and peace to those

who were near.

For it is through Him that we both (whether far

off or near) now have an introduction (access)

by one (Holy) Spirit to the Father ( so that we

are able to approach Him).

Therefore you are no longer outsiders (exiles,

migrants, and aliens, excluded from the rights

of citizens), but you now share citizenship with

the saints (God’s own people, consecrated and

set apart for Himself), and you belong to God’s

household.

(Ephesians 2.16-19).

POINTS FOR MEDITATION AND PRAISE

1) We are no longer strangers to God.

God is our Father. We are His children.

We know Him intimately through Jesus

Christ and by the Holy Spirit.

2) The Holy Spirit communicates His

deep love to us and our deepest concerns

 back to Him.

3) We are God’s household thanks to Jesus

Christ.

GOD’S LOVE IS THE BEST NEWS

St. John, the disciple who penned this statement in I. John 4.8

experienced intimately the close relationship, love, friendship

and presence of Jesus Christ.

He referred to himself as” the disciple Jesus loved”. You might ask

whether the other disciples did not feel or experience the same love.

The fact is that because  St. John “The Divine” had a close friendship

with Jesus, he in turn experienced the love of Jesus much more

intensely than the rest.

He also wrote,

” By this we know love, because He laid down His life for us.”

That’s how we know the extent of Jesus’ love for us.

While we were yet sinners that’s what Jesus did for us to reconcile

us to God.

Much more now we experience the perfect endless love of  God,

indeed we experience who God truly is by the Holy Spirit who

is in our hearts to the extent that we call the Eternal Father our “Daddy”.

” See how the Father has lavished His love on us, that we should be called

children of God!  Therefore the world does not know us, because it did not

know Him.”

” Beloved , now we are children of God and it has not yet been revealed what

we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for

we shall see Him as He is.” ( I. John 3: 1 and 2).

Much much more to come..
